Is Your Head on Nice and Tight

Is your head on nice and tight,
And do your kneecaps fit just right,
Did you shine up all your skin,
And bring your belly button in.

Have you lost a toe or two,
And could your brain be overdue,
Please look in the lost-and-found,
If your ears are not around.

Children must remember parts,
Be they books or pens or hearts.
How can your school day begin,
If you're searching for your chin.

Rosa Parks

From a town in Alabama,
Came a hero from the dark,
For she showed the world her courage,
And her name was Rosa Parks.

She got on a bus one summer day,
Took a seat up front not back,
But was told she could not sit there,
For her skin was colored black.

But because of that one single act,
She was thrown inside a jail,
And for her being so brave,
Our equality is hailed.

So thank you Mrs. Rosa Parks,
For not giving up that day,
For because of you, I have a chance,
To be what I want today.
