Lee B. (1953-2023)

Above is my brother Lee. He led a very active life in Portland, Oregon. This made his untimely death that much more shocking to me, and his many friends in Portland.

I did not realize how many friends he had. They came out of the woodwork. People I did know, people I had heard of, people I didn't know existed. When he got ill, the amount of people who rushed to his support was absolutely overwhelming, a tribute to his popularity.

Lee moved to Portland in 1990, and, though I was skeptical of this move at the time, my brother really came into his own in this city. In additional to the numnber of people who liked and supported him, I was surprised at how active he was. Lee was involved in music, arts, writing, traveling, and philanthropy. He led an extremely busy life, with an impressive multitude of hobbies.

My brother was extremely philanthropic, and his generosity continues to this day.

I intended to write more, but it simply hurts too much. His sudden death was just too dreadfully shocking. He was a good man, a very good man, who got better and better as years went on.
